New Student Tour 

If you are new to Hardy School, reach out to the PTO to find out about getting a tour of Hardy before the first day. Joining the Hardy Facebook page and signing up for the PTO newsletter are also great ways to find out about the Hardy Happenings!

Reminder: Every Tuesday this year will be an early release with dismissal at 1pm. Lunch will be served.

1st day of school | September 5

Tuesday September 5th will be our 1st day back. I can't wait to spend some time getting to know each other! 

Reading Log Due | September 8

Our summer reading log is due the 1st Friday back at school. I can't wait to hear about your favorite summer reads in your longs and in our reading interest survey. I hope you've been enjoying lots of great summer reads.

Hardy Husky Picnic | September 8, 5-7 PM

Come join the Hardy PTO Hardy Husky Back to School Picnic! Bring a picnic dinner. There will also be DJ Dee, an Ice Cream Truck (bring cash!), Games, a 50/50 Raffle and an appearance from the Hardy Husky Mascot.

Parental supervision required! Not a drop off event.

This will be an opportunity for parents to come into the classroom to see what we have been working on and get to know a bit more about the 5th grade curriculum.

Hardy Harvest Festival | October ...

11:30 - 2:30: Held on the Hardy front lawn and playground area. There will be live music (The Hardy Boys), pumpkins for sale, food trucks , Halloween Costume Parade and more!

Hardy Skate Party | TBD

The Hardy Skate Party is one of our biggest end of year fundraising events.  Students can volunteer to help make this awesome Hardy event run smoothly in many different ways! Caregivers can sign on to help coordinate too.

Trash Pick a thon | TBD

In honor of Jim Swan, a former Hardy parent who passed away in 2022, who was dedicated to picking up Arlington and making it a brighter cleaner place, students will collect pledges and pick up as many bags of trash as they can around Arlington. Funds will be put toward 5th grade end of year events.

Edward Kennedy Institute for the U.S. Senate |  TBD

Students learn about government and how a bill becomes a law.  Amongst other things we will get to go inside a life size replica of the Senate chambers.

We will participate in many fun field day games and events, including a tug of war!

JUNE

Duck Tour Field Trip | TBD

  

We will take a duck tour to learn about our historic city of Boston and end the day by eating lunch at Quincy Market in Boston.

Moving on Ceremony | June

Today we celebrate you! The moving on ceremony will start at 8:30 and will be followed by a breakfast reception for friends and families.

Last Day of 5th Grade (if no snow days) | June 21

We made it! Happy summer! You are ready to step up and transition to the Gibbs as a 6th grader.
